Robert T. Smith, Jr., M.D., MPH

Dr. Smith received a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Princeton University in 1994. He then attended the George Washington University in Washington, DC where he received a Masters of Public Health degree in 1996. After completion of his M.P.H., he moved to Richmond, Virginia where he attended Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine and earned his M.D. He completed a surgical internship and residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the West Virginia University Department of Orthopaedics in Morgantown, West Virginia. Following his residency training, he elected to pursue specialized training in Sports Medicine. He completed a Fellowship in Sports Medicine at the Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland where he helped take care of the Baltimore Ravens and several other regional college teams. His professional interests include Shoulder and Knee arthroscopy, Sports Medicine, and General Orthopaedic Surgery and serves as the team physician for Fauquier High School.
