Jeffrey J. Wise, M.D.

Dr. Wise received his undergraduate degree with honors in economics and pre-medicine from the University of Michigan in 1989. He attended medical school at the University of Maryland in Baltimore and graduated in 1993. He completed a surgical internship at Boston University Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. He continued with his training as an orthopedic surgery resident at the William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. Following his residency training, he completed a Reconstructive Spinal Surgery Fellowship at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Wise is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery, and an active member of the North American Spine Society. He is a member of the American Medical Association and Medical Society of Virginia. Dr. Wise currently holds multiple national and regional leadership positions. He sits on the Board of the National Association of Spine Specialists and is a past chairman of the Advocacy Committee of the North American Spine Society. He is a past President of the Fauquier County Medical Society. He has been on the Medical Staff Executive Committee at Fauquier Hospital for the past 6 years and served as the Chairman of the Department of Surgery for four years. He is currently on the Credentials Committee for the hospital. In addition, Dr. Wise was the Delegate from the North American Spine Society to the American Medical Association House of Delegates and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Board of Specialty Societies for many years.

Dr. Wise has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and orthopedic textbook chapters. His professional interests include comprehensive spinal care, degenerative and traumatic diseases of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine, cervical myelopathy, spinal stenosis, herniated discs, and minimally invasive treatment of spinal disorders. He also specializes in joint replacement and general orthopedics. He presently holds privileges at Fauquier and Fair Oaks Hospitals. He is a co-team physician for Kettle Run High School and the Virginia Gold Cup. Dr. Wise joined the practice in 1999.
