James R. Ramser, Jr., M.D.

Dr. Ramser is a native of the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. He attended the University of Virginia where he was elected Phi Beta Kappa and graduated with high distinction in 1983. He completed his medical training, both medical school and orthopedic residency, at the Medical College of Virginia. In 1990, he received the Virginia Orthopaedic Society's Outstanding Resident Award. His award winning research has been published in multiple peer-reviewed orthopedic journals. Dr. Ramser is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery and a fellow of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society.

Dr. Ramser is highly skilled in a wide variety of orthopedic problems, both surgical and non-surgical. He specializes in hip and knee replacement as well as foot, ankle, and bunion surgery. In addition, he practices general orthopedic and trauma surgery. He has served Fauquier hospital as Chairman of the Department of Surgery, and as a member of the Credentials Committee and Outpatient Committee. He has also served on the Board of Directors of Warrenton Overlook Health and Rehabilitation and is a member of the Fauquier County Medical Society. He is the team physician for Liberty High School and has proudly served in this position since the school's opening in 1994. He presently holds privileges at Fauquier Hospital. Dr. Ramser joined Blue Ridge Orthopaedic Associates in 1992.
